I have a friend that forgave someone who molested them as a child. That forgiveness released the person that was molested from years of hatred and guilt they didn't realize they were still living with. And that forgiveness made a pathway for the other person to become a believer. Only through the power of Christ can we forgive such heinous acts. However when we understand the magnitude of our own sin that God had forgiven, it does become easier to forgive and release others from judgement.
