"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you." Isaiah 43:2
I just feel really strongly in my spirit that some of you need to hear this word today. No matter who you are, or where you come from, or what decisions you make in life, you will face illness, pain, suffering, and loss. Embedded in the promise of this passage is the reality of suffering: when you go through deep waters, when you walk through the fire. God’s children(born-again believers) are not exempted from suffering, pain, and tragedy. However, when we as believers do face life’s difficulties, here is the promise for every child of God: He will be with you, they will not overcome you, you will not be harmed.
For this reason, you need not fear no matter what obstacle or heartache you may be facing. “Fear not,” God says, “because I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1). I am intimately acquainted with your situation and you belong to me, and I will take you through this. Though the way seems difficult, and at times impossible, you can be confident in this, "Nothing will be impossible with God" (Luke 1:37). If you are in Christ today, then you have been redeemed by God no difficulty will drown you, no trial will overwhelm you, no sorrow will destroy you.
